The Gardens by the Bay is a national garden and top horticultural attraction for local and foreign visitors. It is located 500 meters from Marina Bay Sands, 2.5 kilometers from Tanjong Pagar MRT Station, and 17 kilometers from Changi Airport. It is one of the top 10 most visited gardens in the world and a must-see location for Singapore packages. It is located next to the Marina Reservoir.

Spanning over 250 acres of reclaimed ground in Singapore’s Central Region, is a showcase of horticulture and garden artistry that offers a fresh perspective on the plant kingdom. The country has ambitions to change its “Garden City” into a “City in a Garden.” The garden’s construction began in 2007 and it became accessible to the public in 2011. Numerous accolades and awards have been bestowed upon it, including the World Building of the Year title in 2012, the President’s Design Award (Singapore) in 2013, the Outstanding Achievement Award by the Themed Entertainment Association in 2014, and the title of Largest Glass Greenhouse (Flower Dome) in the Guinness World Records for 2015.

Bay East, Bay South, and Bay Central are the three divisions of the garden. The 79-acre Bay East Garden features a 2-kilometer promenade frontage that borders the Marina Reservoir. In support of the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, a temporary park was created at Bay East Garden. In order to provide an alternate route to the Marina Barrage, the public was given access to the garden’s first phase in October 2011. It is planned as a collection of sizable tropical leaf-shaped gardens along the shoreline, each with a unique landscaping style, personality, and theme. It provides a commanding vantage point of Singapore’s skyline, which is especially stunning at twilight following the light-outs. There are some peaceful picnic areas in Bay East as well. A 3 km long beachfront promenade can be found in Bay Central, which connects Bay East and Bay South. This section provides for picturesque treks with breath-taking scenery and peaceful surroundings.

The award-winning chilled conservatories of Cloud Forest and Flower Dome, as well as the recognisable Supertree Groves, can be found in Bay South, the largest of the gardens, which spans an area of around 130 acres. According to the 2015 Guinness Book of World Records, it has the largest glass greenhouse in the world, called the Flower Dome. The dome, which is about 1.2 hectares (3.0 acres) and simulates a chilly, dry Mediterranean environment, has plants and flowers from different parts of the world, including a Mediterranean garden, an olive grove, a garden in South Africa, a garden in South America, and more.

The Cloud Forest, another of Gardens by the Bay’s cooled conservatories, is renowned for its artificially high altitude setting. The glass dome is designed to give guests views and a feeling of being encircled by mountains. The highest indoor waterfall in the world is set against the backdrop of a 35-meter-tall mountain that rises within the gated property. One can observe the diversified vegetation, rare plants, and species, as well as the habitats necessary for their survival, in addition to the stunning mountain views.

The OCBC Skyway, an elevated walkway perched at a height of 22 m, is another attraction of Gardens by the Bay. Beautiful installations adorn the 128 m long aerial walkway, which is illuminated to give it a stunning appearance. Twelve “Supertrees,” which resemble trees, embellish the roadway. It only becomes better at night when the skyway is illuminated by the millions of lights. Garden Rhapsody, a light and sound extravaganza, is required by the lit trees twice daily at 7:45 PM and 8:45 PM. The breathtaking Skyway offers unobstructed views of Singapore’s skyline, including the Marina Bay Sands. The Children’s Garden, Heritage Garden, and Sun Pavilion are also located in the garden.

When the Singapore Garden Festival takes place at Flower Dome and Cloud Forest in July and August each year, it is the ideal time to visit the Gardens by the Bay. The festival has many features to keep visitors in touch with nature, including balcony gardens, fantasy gardens, flower windows, a bustling market, an orchid extravaganza, and more. With one million people inside the grounds of the garden, it welcomes the new appearance of nature with fresh flowers blooming in each and every crevice of Gardens by the Bay.
